If you are navigating difficult emotions or experiencing challenges in life, I am here to walk alongside you, supporting you with care and understanding every step of the way. My work as a teacher, school counsellor, and inclusive education coordinator has provided me with experience supporting people through diverse challenges. I enjoy working with neurodivergent populations and I love to work with people who feel they do not quite fit in. I am compassionate and client-centered, dedicated to helping individuals navigate the challenges of burnout, parenting issues, body image concerns, depression, anxiety, and grief and loss. With a deep understanding of the pressures people face in these areas, I work collaboratively with you to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your experiences and emotions.

In therapy, I combine a holistic approach with practical, evidence-based tools and strategies, aiming to support you in achieving sustainable mental and emotional health. I use modalities of dialectical behaviour therapy, mindfulness practices, acceptance and commitment therapy, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). I operate from a feminist perspective, meaning I welcome all people who feel marginalized in society. By fostering an environment of collaboration, I work to ensure that you are an active participant in your healing journey, working together to identify solutions, set realistic goals, and build coping skills that last beyond the therapy space.

My Background

I worked in the education system for 15 years, first as an elementary and junior high school teacher, then as a school counsellor and inclusive education coordinator. I have supported children and their parents through many challenges, including grief and loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, and navigating community supports for complex diagnoses. Since completing my masters of counselling degree, I have continued to offer counselling in schools and have worked separately at a centre that specializes in providing counselling to people who have been impacted by sexual violence. My work in this area has allowed me the unique opportunity to provide support to diverse and marginalized populations.

What You Can Expect When you Come to Therapy

When you arrive at my practice, you'll find parking near the front door with stairs and a ramp up to the front door of the building. You can take an elevator at the back of the main entrance to the third floor. The office is left out of the elevator. Once in the office, you will be greeted by a comfortable seating area with inclusive seating options. During our session, I'll work with you in an accepting and supportive manner to address your concerns and we'll discuss therapeutic options together, so you can be as involved as you like in deciding how to proceed.
